Modern School aims to provide quality teaching and learning for all its pupils, and the development of the whole child in a safe, secure, happy, and caring environment. Helping children to develop good attitudes and values is an important feature of our work.
The School maintains small classes to ensure individual attention for each child. Over the years, we have sustained an excellent pupil-staff ratio.
Rudimentary skills and manners are taught in a small and friendly playgroup setting.
We offer a variety of extracurricular activities, including nature walks, art & craft, elocution, singing, dancing, and cultural programs.
Modern School takes pride in its significant contribution to the development of Barrackpore. It was the first English-medium primary school in the Barrackpore sub-division after Independence. Since its inception, the school has provided quality education, nurturing students academically and equipping them with life skills for responsible roles in society.
The founder, Mrs. Enid Isaac, has been widely recognized, including receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award for a Teacher from *The Telegraph Education Foundation*, presented by Mr. Narayan Murthy of Infosys. Alumni of Modern School hold prestigious positions worldwide, and the school feels immense pride when former students return as grandparents to revisit their alma mater.
